How we handle data.
Plain answers about where our audience comes from, what happens to your information, and the rules every email we send follows.
Where the audience comes from
- Our audience data comes from a licensed third-party data provider. We are not the source of the data.
- Each record is a person who opted in to receive email from third parties.
- The audience is counted one record per household.
- The provider refreshes the data every quarter and removes opt-outs, unsubscribes and inactive addresses as they happen, so counts move a little from week to week. Re-run a count before you order.
We never hand over the list
When you book a campaign, we send your email to the audience on your behalf. You never receive the list, and neither does anyone else. The records stay with the data provider.
The rules every email follows
- Every email carries a working unsubscribe link, and every unsubscribe is honoured.
- Every email shows the sender’s postal address.
- The From line and the subject line say honestly who is writing and what the email is about.
- Political emails carry a “Paid for by” line where the law requires one. The sender is responsible for its wording.
- A person on our team checks every campaign before anything sends. We do not send emails that mislead people about how to vote or that pretend to come from someone else.
These follow the basics of the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act for commercial email.
Your information
- We do not sell or rent your information as a customer.
- This site’s ad tags never load if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, or after you opt out with “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” at the bottom of any page.
- Our privacy policy lists every company that helps us run the service and what each one sees. Our terms cover campaigns and orders.
- Got an email sent through us and want off the list? Use the unsubscribe link in that email, or write to support@politisizeit.com. We pass the request to the data provider and confirm when it is done.
Security
- The site and the app use encrypted connections only.
- Sign-in codes are stored scrambled (hashed), never as typed.
- Card details go to our payment processor, Stripe, and never touch our systems.
- Error reports have email addresses, phone numbers and codes removed before they leave our servers.
- No system is perfect. If something happens that affects your information, we will tell you promptly.
